The touring exhibition ‘Aluminium, gold, e-waste – Nothing shines without a shadow’ was created under the Ghana-NRW partnership in cooperation with the One World Network NRW, Engagement Global and Germanwatch. The exhibition provides information about how our behaviour as consumers is linked to the consumption of natural resources in countries like Ghana. It shows how important raw materials are extracted in Ghana and what happens there to e-waste, some of which originated in Europe. The negative impact this is having on the people and environment in Ghana is also made clear. Tips for sustainable consumption and creative initiatives from NRW make it plain that everyone can do their bit to help conserve resources.
The exhibition is made up of nine vividly illustrated roll-ups that can be loaned free of charge for development education work – the person or organisation loaning the exhibition need only pay for transport. QR codes on the roll-ups provide access to further information on this website.
